QUICK GUIDE TO REPORTING CONCERNS

Welcome to our summary guide for CoppaFeel! staff and volunteers on reporting any concerns you have about a person's safety or wellbeing.

At CoppaFeel! we value…

  • Everyone’s safety and wellbeing
  • Creating a safe space for our activities
  • Everyone’s role in reporting any concerning behaviour to keep our community and beneficiaries safe.

What to do if…

You have any concerns about your safety or the safety of others when representing CoppaFeel!.

  1. Take yourself to safety
  2. Call 999 if you or someone else is in immediate danger
  3. Report it to the venue if at an event
  4. Report it to your main contact at Boob HQ as soon as possible, who will inform the safeguarding lead and assess next steps.

What to do if…

Someone tells you something concerning.

  • Action must be taken no matter if the information you received is about a concern that is non-recent or from an anonymous source.
  • Always make sure the person speaking up feels they’re being listened to and supported.
  • Don’t promise to keep information confidential between you and them. Refer to our Reporting Concerns policy to make sure information is only shared with people who need and have the right to know.

If there is an immediate risk of harm then action should be taken to put safeguarding measures in place straight away by reporting it promptly to CoppaFeel! and the police directly if necessary.

Key points to remember

  • Keeping yourself and others safe is the responsibility of everyone. Report any concerns however minor they may seem.
  • Always report any concerns to staff on site and your main point of contact at Boob HQ. Don’t assume someone else will report what you may have seen or heard.
  • It is your responsibility to report but not investigate. When making a report include all the details that you are aware of.
  • Call 999 if there is a real emergency and someone is harmed or in danger.

Thank you for keeping our community safe.
